camping

Last week we went camping (Forest's first time)! Forest loved being outside ALL day. He would explore around our campsite and neighboring sites. While putting up the tent Forest loved playing with the tent polls and although Forest will not wear hats he will wear the cover to the lantern for long periods of time. I think he looks pretty adorable, if I do say so.

Because of all the rain we put our tent in another tent to help keep us dry (it worked!) The larger tent we did not know how to put up and so we gave up, but no big deal it worked great and we slept snug all night!

Bridger's excellent fire making capabilities came in handy. We were able to cook our meals above the fire and warm up our cold hands. Every time Forest got near the fire he would say "HOT!" and would stay away - thank goodness!

We went on a nice walk/ hike around a pretty little lake called Lost Lake (not to be confused with Lost Lake near Hood River)

We are such a cute little family!

Although Forest had fun playing at the campsite, he was ready to go home and insisted on driving :)

Playing at the Park

Playing at the park is so much more fun now that Forest can actually play on the toys.

My Little Artist

Every Friday Forest has art class at a local recreation center. The art class has been really fun for both Forest and I! There are 6 stations for the kids to play/ create art at. The stations are: a clay table, a stamp table, a water coloring table, a water playing table, a toy area, and an easel area with paints. Forest LOVES all the stations and will wonder from one table to the next during class.

Uncle Seth and Aunt Lindsey were able to go to an art class while visiting. Uncle Seth did a great job helping Forest make a valentine for Bridger.

From week to week Forest has started eating less and less of the art materials. (thank goodness they use all safe paint and clay!)
By the end of art class Forest is ALWAYS covered in paint and a bath is more than necessary when we arrive home. In this picture the paint actually leaked through his shirt and stained his belly!

We have TONS of fun at art class and have TONS of clean up too!

Let Us Pray

Forest's new favorite activity is praying. Throughout the day Forest will randomly fold his arms, look at me, bow his head, and wait for me to say a prayer. At the end he will say "men" or something that sounds close to "men". It is adorable! His frequent praying has encouraged me to find more things to be thankful for in each of our prayers in the day.

P.S. Forest LOVES the power cords to our cell phones, and although I hide them from him he quickly finds them and wears them. Some days it is just too big of a fight to try and take them away.

Lindsey and Seth

Last week we had Forest's Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Seth come to visit!Forest loved hanging out with them. When he woke up in the morning he couldn't wait to get out of his room and see what they were up to. (note: in the picture above Forest is standing on a stool - he is not as tall as he appears in this picture)
We took our guests all over Portland and neighboring areas. We just played, played, played all week!

Uncle Seth brought his Magic microphone. Forest was captivated when Seth sang,

My Skinny Kid

Having a skinny kid has been really nice when it comes to buying clothes. Until recently Forest has been able to fit in his 3-6month old clothes. But in the last week I have noticed that EVERY pair of Forest's pants are high waters on him and ALL of his onesies are skin tight. What's going on? I should have noticed this new development earlier since Forest can easily grab items off the edge of the table and can almost get onto chairs, but I have been blind to this new phenomenon and I have let it creep up on me .This onesie is size 3-6 months. It doesn't look incredible tight in this picture, but it is a cute picture of Forest so I wanted to put it on my blog anyways.

This picture has nothing to do with my blog but look at Forest's waves! Aren't they adorable? These curls are from Bridger because my curls are around my face but Bridger's are in the back. Because I love these curls I will not cut them but I do cut the sides... so Forest has a very fashionable mullet.

Lego Mania

Bridger is really into building with Forest's Legos. Everyday he builds a bigger and better pyramid.

The last pyramid used almost all of the Legos and could double as a very attractive beach hat!
